Peter Davison was born in Streatham, London, on 13 April1951, to Claude and Sheila Moffett. His father, Claude, was born in British Guiana. Before founding a grocer’s business, he worked as a radio engineer. Sheila, on the other hand, worked in intelligence during WW 2, before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Shirley, Pamela, and Barbara Davison were Davison’s three sisters. He went to Granton Primary School in Streatham. The family then relocated to Knaphill, Surrey.
Peter Davison studied speech and drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. His first employment was at the Nottingham Playhouse, where he worked as an actor and assistant stage manager. To prevent confusion with actor and director Peter Moffatt, he used the stage name Peter Davison. He later collaborated with him.
His debut appearance on television was in a 1975 episode of the children’s science fiction show The Tomorrow People. He co-starred with Sandra Dickinson, an American actress whom he married. Peter Davison worked for 18 months in a tax office in Twickenham in the mid-1970s.
In 1976, he was cast in the 13-part TV miniseries Love for Lydia, which starred a young Jeremy Irons. Davison rose to fame for his portrayal of the youthfully naughty Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small in 1978.
Davison also co-starred with Dickinson as the Dish of the Day in the 1981 television adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Holding the Fort and Sink or Swim, are two British comedies in which Davison has appeared. He’s also done some theatrical work.
Apart from that, he has had a number of other leading roles, including Doctor in Doctor Who. He also appeared in A Very Peculiar Practice as Dr Stephen Daker and Campion as Albert Campion. In At Home with the Braithwaites, Dangerous Davies in The Last Detective, and Henry Sharpe in Law & Order, he played David Braithwaite.

Georgia Moffett is the couple’s daughter who was born in year 1984, and is an actress today.
In year 2003, Peter Davison married Elizabeth Morton, his 3rd wife, who is a writer & actor. The couple has 2 boys together, Louis (born in 1999) and Joel (born in 2001). Both of the brothers are actors. Louis made his professional acting debut at the age of 14. Joel, his younger brother, made his acting debut at the age of 13 in the summer of 2014.
