Ness Nusli Wadia is a British-Indian businessman who was born on 30th of May 1971. He is the great grandson of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and hence a direct descendant of Jinnah. He is a member of the Wadia family, where his parents and numerous family members are all interested in business.
For his master’s thesis on Leading for Success in India, he took time off from work in 1998 to complete his degree at the University of Warwick in Science of Engineering Business Management. He returned to Bombay Dyeing in 2001 as Deputy Managing Director and was later elevated to Joint Managing Director after completing his master’s degree.
Wadia is the Managing Director of Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation, which has a controlling position in Britannia Industries and has stakes in most of the Wadia Group’s companies. Wadia Group is known worldwide for its ventures and operations.
While serving as Convener of the Special Group Task Force on Food and Agro Industries Management Policy in 1998, he also served as a member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Trade & Industry from 1999 to 2000.

IPL cricket club Twenty20 cricket franchise of Preity Zinta and billionaire Mohit Burman’s ownership was bought by Wadia in 2008. The team was purchased for $76 million and renamed the Punjab Kings.
