Haney grew up in Oakland, California, after being born in San Francisco. He was raised by his father, Bill Haney, who moved the family to Las Vegas when he was seven years old, where he began boxing. He turned to Islam in April 2021.
In the amateurs, two of his eight losses came against his current competitor Ryan Garcia and the two have fought 4 times, with Garcia winning twice one by majority draw and the other by unanimous decision.
Haney began his professional boxing career at the age of 17, despite the fact that the sport was not available to him since he was too young. Unfortunately, this meant he’d have to compete in other locations outside of the United States, and he’d have to overcome the challenges of fighting overseas for a few years before being allowed to train at home again.
Despite these losses, he was the WBC Youth Champion, IBF Champion, IBF American Champion, WBC International Champion, WBO Inter Continental Champion, and WBA International Champion throughout his career. All of this was accomplished by intentionally studying from senior boxers like as world champion Javier Castillejo while overseas.
Haney was initially set to fight Filipino boxer Harmonito Torre in an 8-round light heavyweight class match on February 2, 2018. Due to visa complications, the flight was cancelled and no alternative substitutes could be identified in time for the new date, thus it was pushed back.
Haney faced incredibly difficult opposition in Ndongeni on January 11, 2019, and won a 10-round battle unanimously. Haney’s own firm, Devin Haney Promotions, and British promoter Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing struck a co-promotional contract in April 2019.

She is a professional businesswoman as well as a model and social media celebrity.
She also studied early childhood development at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, before breaking into the modelling profession and inventing her own line of beauty kits, which proved a major hit and made her incredibly rich.
Net Worth |
As of February 2022, Haney’s net worth is predicted to be $5 million. His maiden WBC lightweight championship defence netted him 20% of the total. Haney has his own promotion organization, which allows him to make a bigger profit on whatever show he competes on.
Devin Haney Promotions is the name of the aforesaid described firm. You may anticipate this worth to skyrocket if he participates in any of the big battles in 2021 versus fellow champions.
