Daryl Morey is a sports executive from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who now serves as the president of basketball operations for the 76 ers of the National Basketball Association. He was one of the founding members of the annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.

On 14 September 1972, Daryl Morey was born in his hometown, Baraboo, Wisconsin, US. He is of White race and possesses the American nationality. In terms of his schooling, he graduated from Highland High School in Medina, Ohio, before earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a focus on statistics from Northwestern University in 1996 and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1997.
Morey began his career at The Parthenon Gathering, a major procedure counselling organization, as a top expert with a focus on athletics. He also worked at Details, Inc as a quantifiable expert with a focus on sports. Following the Parthenon Gathering, Morey worked with the Boston Celtics for three years as SVP Activities.

In addition to the traditional use of subjective exploration and essential statistics, his enlistment followed the Moneyball pattern of using more advanced measurable based examination.
Although some teams have hired referees with unconventional basketball backgrounds, the Houston Rockets became the first NBA team to do so. He and the Rockets acquired now-Top pick and 2017/18 group MVP James Solidify from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the fall of 2012.
The Rockets have not had a losing record throughout Morey’s tenure and have advanced to the end-of-season games on many occasions, going reaching the Western Meeting Finals in 2015 and 2018.
