Anne Burrell was born in New York, on 21st of September 1969, to Marlene Burrell, who owned a flower business. Anne Burrell received her bachelor’s degree in English and communications from Canisius College in Buffalo in year 1991.
She then went on to Culinary Institute of America, where she earned an Associate in Occupational Studies degree in year 1996. She also studied at Asti, Italy, at the Italian Institute for Foreigners.
She started working in restaurants in Italy shortly after graduating from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She owned her skills in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant. When she returned to the United States, she worked at Felidia, an Italian-American restaurant operated by famous chef Lidia Bastianich.
As a sous chef, Anne Burrell worked there along with her passion. She went on to work as a cook at the Savoy, a modest restaurant, and served there for quite a time. Her second job was as a culinary instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education, which was an honor for her.
