Carson Lee Kressley was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on November 11th, 1969. He grew up in an unincorporated community in Pennsylvania called Orefield, where his family bred horses. He began competing in equestrian sports at an early age and joined the United States World Cup Saddle Seat equitation team in 1999, winning the world title in 2009.
Carsn graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in year 1987 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College in 1991. After being elected to Phi Beta Kappa, he was initiated into the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega.
Kressley began his career as a freelance stylist, but from 1992 to 2002, he worked with Ralph Lauren in a variety of fashion and corporate advertising jobs. When Queer Eye debuted on the Bravo cable TV network in 2003, Kressley was dubbed the Fashion Guru. Kressley has been on Good Morning America and the E Network, among others, to criticize red carpet trends at high-profile events such as the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
