On 25 January 1996, Adama Traore was born to Fatoumata and Baba Traore, in the Barcelona neighborhood of L Hospitalet, earning him Spanish citizenship by birth. He has two brothers and his parents were Spanish immigrants, but their ancestors came from Africa, namely Mali in West Africa. They moved from Mali to Spain in search of better living circumstances, opportunities, and other benefits.
Adama and his brother began playing football at a young age on local fields, and their abilities were rapidly recognized. Adama and his brother began playing football at the Centre D Esports L Hospitalet, and their abilities quickly became well-known.
